You might not like what I’m about to say, but it’s the truth....
Many people who have experienced trauma will play the victim role long after the traumatic event occurred to avoid the responsibility that comes with healing themselves. They don’t want to own THEIR part. (Their part being that they choose to hold onto whatever or whoever it was that traumatized them.)
They would rather stay stuck in their toxic relationships and unfavorable circumstances because it’s easier to avoid their pain rather than face their original wound. They often disconnect from themselves and have trouble with self awareness, emotion regulation, and decision making.
I can’t emphasize this enough!!!
IF YOU ARE NOT LIVING IN ALIGNMENT WITH SELF YOU WILL NOT ATTRACT YOUR IDEAL PARTNERS/FRIENDS/CLIENTS/LIFE CIRCUMSTANCES/ETC. YOU WILL CONTINUE TO PERPETUATE YOUR WOUND
....and the list goes on.
If you’ve experienced trauma and you’re still tolerating less than what you deserve then you haven’t yet reached your breaking point. You haven’t yet received the gift of desperation. And believe me, it is truly a gift to be in that state of utter despair.
When you find yourself sobbing in the fetal position because your life/relationships are crumbling, you have received a gift. You have been gifted the ability of SIGHT, as you can now clearly see that changes must be made. You are no longer living in denial. In that moment, you have to look within and find that one little spark that you have left inside your heart and ignite your inner desire to change.
You have to wake up one day and say:
“I am SO DONE with this sh+t!”
Seriously....why settle for toxicity? For mediocrity? In any area of your life? Why let your past traumas rule your present and dictate your future?
YOU are NOT what happened to you. But you are responsible for taking ownership of your part in the healing process.
Do the inner work, commit to exploring the deeper aspects of your personality and heal any unresolved traumas/wounds that you have so that you can revel in the feeling of alignment + self-acceptance. You deserve to experience deep, meaningful relationships and enjoy the fullness of your being.
